Great Smoky Mountains

I grew up exploring the northern stretches of the Appalachian Mountains in the Blue Ridge, but it wasn’t until college that I finally ventured south into the Smokies. There’s something unforgettable about the steep mountain backdrops framing little towns, the sight of elk, black bears, and deer roaming freely, and the endless portrait of blue and green ridgelines fading into the horizon.

From the sweeping views atop Clingmans Dome to scenic drives winding through valleys, from wildflower meadows buzzing with life to the charm of the surrounding mountain towns, the Smokies bring it all together. It’s no wonder this is America’s most visited national park, every turn feels like a new reason to fall in love with these mountains.
